Setting Up Your Trezor

  1. Connect Your Trezor: Use the provided USB cable to connect your Trezor device to your computer. Navigate to trezor.io/start to begin the setup process.

  2. Install Trezor Bridge: Trezor Bridge is a software that facilitates communication between your Trezor device and your web browser. Download and install Trezor Bridge from the provided link on the Trezor start page.

  3. Initialize Your Device: Follow the on-screen instructions to initialize your Trezor device. You will be prompted to create a new wallet or recover an existing one using your recovery seed.

Creating a New Wallet

  1. Generate a Recovery Seed: During the initialization, Trezor will generate a 12 or 24-word recovery seed. This seed is crucial for recovering your wallet if your Trezor device is lost or damaged. Write down the seed words in the exact order provided on the recovery seed card and store it in a secure location.

  2. Confirm the Seed: Trezor will ask you to confirm the recovery seed by selecting the words in the correct order. This step ensures you have accurately recorded the seed.

  3. Set a PIN: Choose a strong PIN for your Trezor device. The PIN adds an extra layer of security, preventing unauthorized access.

Recovering an Existing Wallet

If you already have a Trezor wallet and need to recover it:

  1. Select Recover Wallet: On the initialization screen, select the option to recover an existing wallet.

  2. Enter Recovery Seed: Carefully enter your 12 or 24-word recovery seed in the exact order. Trezor will restore your wallet, giving you access to your funds.

Using Trezor Suite

Trezor Suite is the official desktop application for managing your Trezor wallet. It provides a user-friendly interface for performing various tasks, such as sending and receiving cryptocurrencies, managing accounts, and accessing advanced security settings.

  1. Download Trezor Suite: Visit suite.trezor.io and download the Trezor Suite application for your operating system.

  2. Install and Launch: Install the application and launch it. Connect your Trezor device to your computer to begin using Trezor Suite.

Security Tips

  1. Keep Your Recovery Seed Safe: Never share your recovery seed with anyone. Store it offline in a secure place.

  2. Verify URLs: Always ensure you are on the official Trezor website when entering sensitive information. Phishing sites can mimic official sites to steal your data.

  3. Regular Updates: Keep your Trezor device firmware and Trezor Suite application up to date to benefit from the latest security features and improvements.
